Teacher's Edition Lesson Summary ~ Ages 8 & Up
Conversation
Team Time
Team leaders mark students' check lists. Ask students to paste news articles on page 34 of their workbooks.
Teaching the Table Setting (During "Team Time")
Use the following summary to teach "Beverages."
1.   The coffee cup, saucer, and spoon are usually brought after the meal.  If they are set, however, they are placed to the right of the setting.  See Figure 3b, page 100.
2.   Ask a student to set the basic setting. The student should place the coffee cup handle where it may be reached easily by the diner.
3.   Avoid crunching ice, tapping on your glass, stirring loudly, or playing with the straw. Keep your hands in your lap when you are not eating or drinking.
Opening Prayer
Ask God to guide your conversation.
Review - 5 to 6 minutes.
Read aloud "Good Manners Report Cards" that the students have brought to class and mark check lists. Ask students to open their workbooks to the crossword puzzle beginning on page 21. Read the sentences aloud as students quickly volunteer answers.
Lesson Introduction - 3 to 5 minutes     Ephesians 4:29
Ask a student to read the verse from the Bible (or on page 26 of the workbook). Ephesians 4:29 tells us to say only what is helpful. We will read this important verse again at the end of our lesson today.
"Mini Mint" Skit
Perform the skit with a team leader and rolls of breath mints. Note: Say breathly "H" sounds.
